Developed to progressively replace the 6105-8000 “Slim Case”, the 6105-8110/9 entered the line in 1970.

Equipped with a very “cushion” case design (which would be a trend in the 70s), absurd legibility and good technical features such as the 6105 caliber tractor and a crown with a locking system, it didn't take long for it to be adopted by military forces in combat and by explorers who explored the unknown.

Whether worn by a soldier in Vietnam or an explorer in Antarctica, the 6105-8110/9 was synonymous with reliability and durability. It was also worn in the iconic film Apocalypse Now by Captain Willard, played by actor Martin Sheen. Seiko has recently released a few reissues, but this is the one that gave rise to the model.

This piece is in an impressive state of conservation, very rare for this reference. Original dial and original polishing, with expected signs of use and time, and a small mark at 11 o'clock. The bezel insert has not been replaced as we commonly see on the market. It is truly an extremely rare watch to find in this condition, being a highly collectible item.
