C-Shape is the nickname for the case design created by the renowned Swiss watchmaker and artist Gérald Genta.

Introduced in 1964, 12 years after the launch of the Constellation collection (1952), it represented a revolution in terms of design, featuring a cleaner dial, with thinner baton hands and subtle markers, giving it more presence on the wrist.

The nickname “C-Shape” comes from the shape of the case, in allusion to two letters C’s opposite each other, with rumors that Genta was inspired by the letter C because it is the initial letter of the Constellation collection, in addition to being the third letter of the alphabet, a relation to the third era of the Constellation line.

The “C-Shape” era ended in 1978, with models equipped with calibers 561 and 564, passing through 751, up to 1011 and 1021.
