Very rare and very special Omega Seamaster, launched in commemoration of the XVI Olympic Games in Melbourne, Australia in 1956.
In addition to being a commemorative edition, this model was limited to just 100 pieces and was not sold to the public, only given as gifts to some athletes, executives and celebrities of the time. A version without the “Olympic Merit Cross” was later released, as Omega had not been granted the right to use it.
The solid 18k gold case is in perfect condition, with original polishing, beautifully preserving the spider-lug design. Also in 18k gold are the coffin-style applied indexes, the “Dauphine” hands and the faceted crown signed with the Omega insignia. The Chinese lacquered dial is the highlight of this piece, bearing the famous Olympic logo — also engraved on the caseback. Equipped with the automatic caliber 471 in beautiful condition, which was recently overhauled and works perfectly. To finish: original case from the period and original Omega gold plaquet buckle on a replacement yellow leather strap.
It is a great joy to make such a rare and exclusive piece available in our country.
