One of the first sports diving watches, the Seiko 6106-8100 is associated with the name of Gene Kranz, NASA's flight director during the Apollo missions.

Several photographs from the period show the famous director using his Seiko 6106-8100 in the NASA operations center. In addition to the Seiko 6139-6005 used by Colonel William Pogue on the Skylab 4 mission in 1973, this is another Seiko that contributed in some way to the space race.

It has a 38mm diameter steel case, with original polishing. Gray dial and original hands, without restoration. Watch in excellent overall condition. Replacement gray Nato strap.

Manufactured in 1968, the year this model was launched, it still bears the inscription "Water70mProof" on the dial, making it a highly collectible item.
