This isn't just any quartz, it's on the Ikuo Tokunaga Museum's list — a list of favorite models from the engineer who started his career at Seiko's Suwa factory.
A JDM model with a very limited production run (1985 to 1991), this version is a technological upgrade of the famous 7548. To give you an idea of the quality of the 7C43, a virtually identical version was used in the “Tuna” professional line between 1991 and 2009. Apparently it didn’t make sense to keep both calibers on the market, so the 7C43 was discontinued.
As if its rarity due to limited production wasn't enough, this piece is completely original, in incredible condition, with original polishing and glass. The "ghosted" bezel naturally makes it even more exclusive, and the luminous insert, dial and hands also feature this vintage characteristic in a uniform manner.
A few more interesting facts about this model: although it looks a lot like the SKX model, it is a little thinner and has a smaller lug to lug as well. The dial has minimalist inscriptions with just “Professional 200m”, with no indication of whether it is automatic or quartz. The day of the week is in Kanji and English. And as the cherry on top, the hands have a simple finish, matching the design of the dial. It comes with a bracelet that reproduces the period, the famous Z199 from Uncle Seiko.
